Campus Life Leadership Program grants are awarded on the basis of merit to individuals who will be 麻豆村 students in the forthcoming academic year and have a demonstrated interest in student leadership. Student Leaders for the 2025-2026 academic year must be accepted for enrollment at 麻豆村 in the fall of 2025 as a full-time student. Each of the Campus Life Leadership Program grants may amount to over $6,000 annually. Some positions may require non-paid spring leadership training will be held in June. Mandatory full-time summer training will begin on September 2, 2025 for all student leaders, some positions may start on August 25th.

Position: Resident Assistant

Summary  

The Resident Assistant (R.A.) is student leader position committed to building a positive living environment in Student Housing that supports networking, community, and individual student personal and academic growth. The successful candidates will be supported in playing a major role in the lives of the residents through meaningful personal interactions, the implementation of programs, policies, and services at Green River College Student Housing. The ideal Resident Assistant must be able to work successfully on a team as needed, be self-motivated to work independently as needed, and must be flexible in living and working in a constantly changing and unpredictable environment.

Because of the nature of the Resident Assistant role, Student Housing recognizes that not all candidates will possess all these skills at the time of application.  As such, we look for candidates who demonstrate a commitment to learning. Candidates should be open to receiving training and feedback from their supervisor and/or peers to be successful in this challenging and rewarding experience.

The RA position is a nine (9) month commitment. The RA role is considered an essential position and may be required to support essential operations during emergencies, inclement weather, etc. at the direction of the professional staff.

Essential Duties:   

Community and Interpersonal Development

  • Plan, promote, and complete resident events or programs as designated.
  • Assist in the mediation of roommate and other interpersonal conflicts.
  • Assist with resident issue and contact professional staff as needed.
  • Assist and support residents in the completion of roommate agreements.
  • Build and maintain community by establishing strong rapport and sense of respect with residents in your assigned buildings and the entire population of student housing.
  • Identify and provide appropriate personal or academic referral to assist residents in needed.
  • Be present and available within community.
  • Partner with assigned campus offices to provide engagement and support to students while on campus.
  • Engage in a 1:1 manner with residents to support their experience.
  • Serve as the first line of engagement to any student or community issue and contact.

Community Standards & Policy Enforcement

  • Serve 鈥渄uty鈥 or 鈥渙n-call鈥 on a rotating basis.
  • Serve 鈥渂ack-up duty鈥 or 鈥渂ack-up on-call鈥 on a rotating basis.
  • Serve long weekend of 鈥渄uty鈥 or 鈥渙n-call鈥 on a rotating basis.

  • Conduct a series of closing responsibilities when you shut down and secure the Townsend Center.
  • Document any incidents that occur during duty shifts. Incident Reports should be submitted before the start of the next business day.
  • Assist and support with crisis incidents.
  • Maintain confidentiality with all position responsibilities.
  • Adhere to all College policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Respond to and report all violations of college policies.

Administrative

  • Responsible for completing requested written reports (duty log entries, room condition reports, incident reports, etc.)
  • Report all maintenance and cleaning requests.
  • Distribute informational material as needed to residents.
  • Log and organize student mail and packages as a primary function of office shifts.
  • Answer phones, respond to email, and check messages in Microsoft Teams frequently.
  • Manage keys and complete room checks for students moving in and out.
  • Support quarter census procedure.
  • Assisting with other operational needs such as room turns, inspections, packing, cleaning, etc., as directed by professional staff.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Current student at 麻豆村.
  • Be registered for 10 credit hours at GRC for all three quarters for 2025-2026.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.50
  • Commitment to inclusivity, self-reliance, initiative, responsibility, and integrity
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to work on a team
  • The ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.

Time Commitment:

  • Participates in all trainings, staff meetings, openings and closings during the year
  • Helps with major Student Housing events such as Welcome Events, Residential Orientation, Health & Safety Inspections, and Resident Appreciation Week
  • Serves in a regular duty rotation (including Winter, Thanksgiving, and Spring Break)
  • Has limited opportunity for additional employment on or off campus
  • Is not away from campus for more than 5 days without prior approval from the Professional on-call

Compensation

This position will receive a housing credit for the standard housing fee and paid 7 hours each week at a rate of $17.49 per hour. Domestic Resident Assistants are encouraged to meet with a member of financial aid to determine the impact, if any, on their financial aid award.

GAB Member

Job Description

Job Summary

A GAB member is responsible for being part of a team that plans a variety of events and activities throughout the academic year.  Members of GAB will be responsible for planning and implementing weeklong events, recurring weekly events, and other events each quarter.  Programming efforts will focus on Arts & Culture, Special Events, Spirit Events, Volunteer Events, Wellness Events and the Gator Gives program.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Attend, facilitate and participate in weekly GAB meetings
  • Attend and actively participate in GAB hosted programs 
  • Facilitate the programming of activities of a diverse nature to entertain and educate students, staff, faculty, and the campus community 
  • Assist Student Life Promotions Assistant and Graphic Designer in developing a marketing plan for programs
  • Scheduling of rooms and equipment for GAB events/programs
  • Work to ensure that all required forms (i.e., contracts, purchasing requests, etc.) have been processed through the Office of Student Life
  • Attend the NACA regional conference 

Secondary Responsibilities

麻豆村 Student Ambassador (ISA) Team

Job Summary

A member of the 麻豆村 Student Ambassador team is responsible for being part of a team that plans a variety of events and activities throughout the academic year, including during the term breaks in September, December, March and June.  Members of the ISA team are responsible for planning and leading reoccurring weekly events, off campus events and other events each quarter.  Programming efforts will focus on 麻豆村 Students as well as encourage local students to participate.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Attend and participate in weekly ISA meetings
  • Plan and lead events on and off campus
  • Attend and actively participate in ISA hosted programs
  • Plan and lead the quarterly orientation events (international student orientation, Adventure Trip and the new student shopping trip) that happen during the term breaks 
  • Partner with the Social Media Ambassador team to promote events and 麻豆村
  • Scheduling of rooms and equipment for ISA events
  • Work to ensure that all required forms (i.e. contracts, purchasing requests, etc.) have been processed through the Office of Student Life

ODEI Office Assistant

Job Description

Job Summary

An Office Assistant is responsible for being part of a team that connects students to the ODEI (Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) Program and introduce them to the programming, resources and services provided by the ODEI. Office Assistants will be responsible for managing the front-desk office duties, assist in overseeing the Book Loan Program, manage and create content for our social media, offer short-term referral services, and promote events from our Diversity Educational Series (DES).

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Attend, facilitate, and participate in weekly Office Assistant meetings 
  2. Attend, facilitate, and participate in monthly All-Staff meetings
  3. Attend, facilitate, and participate in at least two (2) check-in meetings a quarter with direct supervisor
  4. Provide clerical work and deliver exceptional customer service
  5. Cover the front-desk when needed and/or assigned
  6. Manage Social Media accounts in relation to events, culturally specific holidays, heritage months, and more
  7. Schedule student appointments and team meetings with Peer Navigators and ODEI Full-Time Staff

A Peer Navigator is responsible for being part of a team that connects students to the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, introduces them to our programming, resources, services and mentors GRC students. Peer Navigators will be responsible for mentoring a cohort of GRC students enrolled in our ODEI program, planning events and programming as part of the Diversity Educational Series (DES), assist students in navigating campus resources and facilitating mentor sessions.
