Running Start Students:

Your high school will continue to pay for your tuition while you study abroad. You will still be responsible for paying the Study Abroad Program Fee. Note that some national level scholarships are only open to Financial Aid recipients. You will not be eligible to apply for scholarships with this requirement.

麻豆村 & WCCCSA Scholarships

WCCCSA stands for the Washington State Community College Consortium for Study Abroad. 麻豆村 (GRC) is one of 17 member colleges who jointly sponsor and offer all of the study abroad programs you see on our website.

GRC Ross Jennings Scholarship Fund

For 麻豆村 students who have been accepted to certain programs. Currently only The Netherlands, South Korea, Japan and Australia/New Zealand qualify. You must be accepted to one of these country programs before you can apply for the Ross Jennings Scholarship.

Amount: $500-$1,000

Deadline: About 3 weeks after the program application deadline.

The GRC Foundation offers a variety of scholarships to all GRC students. Some foundation scholarships may qualify to be applied to your study abroad program. Amounts vary. To apply, submit a general scholarship application to the GRC Foundation.

Deadline: Every Fall and Winter (Next cycle opens in January 2023)

For students applying to WCCCSA programs (Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Peru). WCCCSA awards two scholarships per program.

Amount: $1,000 for quarter-long programs

                 $500 for summer programs

Deadline: Same as program application deadline.

Washington Scholarships

(not specifically for study abroad but you can apply funds toward the related costs, such as tuition and books)

For female students 18+ years old with established financial need. Is open to DACA recipients, refugees and asylees.

Amount: $5,000

Deadline: Annually in April

For WA residents pursuing STEM or healthcare realted fields.

Amount: Up to $22,500 for 4 years

Deadline: Annually in February

For students who have graduated from a WA high school and have financial need

Amount: $1,500

Deadline: Annually in July

Multiple scholarship opportunities for Asian American and Pacific Islander Students

Deadline: Annually in January

Need-based scholarship for students planning to sudy abroad in the Asia Pacific (Japan). Email info@tapiea.org for application details.

 

Open to all students attending a Community Colleges for 麻豆村 Development (CCID) member college (GRC is a member!). Preference given to first time travellers, and/or underrepresented students in study abroad, and/or students traveling to areas outside of Europe.

Dates of Travel: May 1, 2023- February 1, 2024

Amount: $500 

Deadline: March 1

For students on their first study abroad trip, traveling to non-traditional desinations (ex: China, Costa Rica, Morocco, Vietnam, and others)

Amount: $750-1,500

Deadline: Apps Accepted on Rolling Basis

Valid only for the Japan program. For current financial aid recipients.

Amount: Up to $5,000

Deadline: Annually in April

FEA was created for students who demonstrate financial need. They offer over 20 scholarships available through one common application! Preference is given to:

  • Students of color
  • First-generation college students
  • Community college students

Eligibility:

  • U.S. citizen, DACA recipients, or permanent resident
  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate at a college or university in the U.S. (graduate students are not eligible)
  • Study abroad program must be eligible for credit at the student's home institution

Amount: $1,000 to $5,000

Deadline: Annually in January/Feburary 

For federal Pell Grant aid recipients.

Amount: Up to $5,000

Deadline: Bi-Annually in early October & March

For dependents or spouses of Active Duty Military Personnel

Amount: $5,000

Deadline: January 2024
